Contemporary

Catherine Casbon will teach a contemporary dance class that fuses Release based techniques with Cunningham and Graham fundamentals. This is a high energy class that concludes with a dynamic dance sequence, finding the balance between developing technique and performance at the same time as having fun! The class is designed for dancers with a background in dance in any form and will either build on your existing contemporary dance knowledge or serve as an exciting introduction.

Dance Fusion

Cat, experienced in a wide range of dance genres, is offering a workshop that will combine the styles of contemporary dance, martial arts, and dance fitness in a fast pace, dynamic and innovative session. This workshop is open to adults at all levels of experience from beginner to advanced, and will be sure to challenge you athletically and artistically. It’s a great introduction to these exciting and complimentary movement methods, as well as being a terrific fitness regime!

Contact Improvisation

Come explore movement and physicality in this inspiring and challenging contact improvisation workshop. Whether you are an experienced dancer or movement artist or coming at it with fresh eyes, this workshop will open new doors in your physical awareness and personal creativity. Tempered Body dancer Cat Casbon will guide you through a series of weight exchange exercises, gradually building up to working with a partner and then in groups in a comfortable and inspiring environment, exploring trial and error in movement.

Repertoire

This workshop will take excerpts from Cat's own repertoire and that of Tempered Body Dance Company, using the choreography as a base to explore personal interpretation. It will also give participants the unique experience of learning and dancing parts of pieces performed in professional dance environments. This promises to be an exciting and challenging workshop, not to be missed by those looking towards a career in dance. Artistic Director Maddy Wynne-Jones will also be offering insights into the choreography during the workshop.
